Thanking God for Ross Perot

#1 Post by Bill in Oregon » Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:03 pm

I was just reading his obits on the various news services. What a great if unorthodox American he was. Godspeed home to your Maker, sir, and you can kid Him about those big Texas ears He gave you!

I really liked the guy....(but, I suspect his third party run is what gave us Clinton for 8 years  )

that may be true but I'll tell you this. My grandmother a second generation life long Democrat from W. Virginia wouldn't vote for Clinton. She voted for Perot.

While I liked a lot of his positions, IMO as a third party candidate he screwed things up and gave clinton the win. Pulling 19% of the vote will do that.

What a huge difference it would have made in this country of we could vote for MORE than one candidate for president...! (like in many local and state elections for County Council and so on)

It would mean not always settling for 'the lesser evil'.

Perot was a great American and he would have made an excellent President.

IMO, those who voted for Bush voted for Clinton.

Ditto! As much as I liked Ross Perot, he truly screwed the pooch jumping into the fray when he had no chance of winning. All he did was give us Clinton. Thanks Ross!

The Top Two method? In a hard-blue state that might get us two "evils" I'm willing to listen, but, using the Clinton, Perot, Bush election as an example, the top two would still have been Bush and Clinton. What am I missing?

Well that may be but she would never vote for a republican in a million years so it's not like she would have ever voted for Bush anyway. At least she could hold her head high and say she never voted for Clinton. I never have understood people that have that lifelong Democratic devotion, or Republican for that mater.

I get that. My MIL is like that. She thinks democratism is normal. She probably never voted for a republican. One of the nicest, kindest, and most generous people I know.

For the record, I find the republicans in general, and "conservatives" in particular to be as corrupt and void of common decency as the democratists.

To me, to be a conservative means to conserve the original intent of the founders, which means I am thinking of a "conservative" as someone who wants to turn back the federal register to somewhere in the 1780s. That would be conservative.

Right now the "conservatives" just want to protect and defend every attack on the books against the original government bequeathed by the founders. The federal government has been illegitimately violating the charter and mandate for a couple hundred years, hand-in-hand with the rest of the motley crew destroying the nation.

so, sinful godless men cannot formulate anything less than sinful godless government.....

AND, (boolean AND), the country will not get a political solution to the manifold crises it is creating. Because the problem and issue is spiritual, the solution is spiritual and supernatural.

So, for the bots and know-nots, things are not going to improve on earth until Christ Jesus returns and puts His food down at the Mount of Olives. At that point, all the things we wish would be so, will be so.

I know there are many believers around this fire, and I hope this is encouraging to all.....
voting is good and necessary, prayerfully reading the Bible is a kajillion times more useful.

OK, more coffee . . . :D

I expect the Perot campaign did not escape the notice of the most famous outside candidate ever, D Trump.

True Dat. But it's the context that is so different. For example, in those days where Perot could be a spoiler and throw the election, there were only two known genders. Now there are 27, according to the pagans. This is considered a cultural norm now by the politicians and who are destroying America.

For example, we did not have 16 years of infamy where the Federal Register was turned into a manual of arms to weaponize the demon inspired corruptocrats, of any affiliation. In the context of the Founders, the CFR is obscene.

It is this altered context that turned the hearts of the "voters" away from the "insiders" who rule ruthlessly over "the American people"

IMO, the American people FINALLY saw through all of that and elected Donald Trump.

The Federal Government is hopelessly immoral and corrupt, OFFICIALLY immoral and corrupt, and because they know that there is no controlling legal authority, and because they have weaponized the courts against the American people, it takes someone like President Trump to attempt to effect changes.

More coffee please,

"IT Takes someone like Trump to effect changes" good point Grizz. Taking the border for example, every President has put forth a lot of talk about fixes. ALL TALK! While the weak *** Dems sit on this issue like an old hen on an egg she knows won't hatch, and keeping others from it, we now have a POTUS that charges head on into it, darn the torpedoes, and taking real action. This testicular fortitude scares the living Pelosi out of Dem ovulators
I say God Bless Trump, he is the right man for our collective time, just in time!
