1889 marlin 3220
I need a good or safeload for it with led bullets. both my loading books only have loads for jacketed bullets . THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
Post a picture if you can...!
I've got an old 1889 in .32-20, and mostly just shot factory loads with lead bullets.
Mine appears to have a REALLY pitted bore, but this summer I want to try and shoot it enough to see if it has any accuracy potential. The firing pin broke and is now a two-piece affair, so if it shoots well, I'll likely get an original replacement.
My great grandfather, the gentleman who owned it, was quite the hunter, and I'm curious to see its shooting potential now over a century later.

First I want to see if it will be a "shooter" - if no good for that, I will not spend the money on a replacement firing pin; I'll just let it quietly tell stories of days of yore to the othes in the safe. (Maybe it will inspire them to do great things!Leverdude wrote:AJMD,
