BlaineG -- what now?

#1 Post by 30-30 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:04 pm

BlaineG, you and I both live in the State of WA, the good progressive people of the left just voted in the worst gun law that I' have ever seen -- now what? Do we move, stay, or fight...? I've been buying and selling firearms in the last two years and have worked my way down to what I wanted. I think at this point I'm good and will not add anything thing else, I've also have increased my stock of ammo. SO WHAT SAY YOU... :(

 My Daughter...only real family I have left...is firmly ensconsed in Tacoma with her great business. I'll probably hang around. It seems, tho, that I now have a few firearms newly called "assault weapons" that will be specially registered and taxed on a yearly basis? At least the state was smart enough not to tax food or energy any more than it already is. I suspect that Comrade Jay Inslee, may God rot his communist soul, will keep trying to empty our wallets.

It is so amazing that in a nation that has everything going for it, and such a high standard of living, that enables everyone who is motivated to learn our political system, learn history, and seek to understand legislation, that 'we' elect such complete FOOLS and blatant socialists to office.

In New York, that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez bimbo is completely idiotic, YET PEOPLE VOTED FOR HER....!

Here's what the 'progressssives' seem to think is the path to take: https://www.thenation.com/article/house ... io-cortez/ - look at just this excerpt from the article to see the BIZARRE way these people view the world....it is all about tallying and ranking and judging people by race, by genitalia, and by religion. Then they have the gall to call all Republicans 'raaaaacists'......

"The feminist resistance to Donald Trump marched from America’s cities, suburbs, and small towns into Congress and the statehouses on November 6. As of this writing, nearly 100 women will take their seats in the US House of Representatives in January; almost ninety percent of these women are Democrats. “I feel so good,” says Emily’s List president Stephanie Schriock. The group had a plan to elect at least 23 Democratic women to the House, so that the 23 victories needed by the Democrats to control the chamber were provided by women. Of the party’s 27 pickups in the midterms thus far, 19 are women, all endorsed by Emily’s List. Another six Emily’s List-backed candidates are in races too close to call.

According to CNN exit polls, almost 80 percent of voters said that electing women was important to them, and apparently they meant it. This new class of women legislators is the youngest and most diverse in American history, featuring two Muslim women (Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib and Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar); the first Native American women (New Mexico’s Deb Haaland and Kansas’s Sharice Davids, who is also a lesbian); the two youngest women ever elected to Congress (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Iowa’s Abby Finkenauer); Texas’s first two Latina congresswomen (Veronica Escobar and Sylvia Garcia); plus three young black women (Massachusetts’s Ayanna Pressley, Connecticut’s Jahana Hayes, and Illinois’s Lauren Underwood). In a big victory for gun safety, Moms Demand Action candidate Lucy McBath—whose son, Jordan Davis, was murdered by a white man in 2012 for playing his music too loud—appears to have narrowly defeated conservative antiabortion crusader Karen Handel on a wave of suburban female activism that almost won Georgia’s long-Republican Sixth District in a 2017 special election. Of the 140 winning candidates endorsed by the group Run for Something, which supports millennial candidates for office, mainly in state and local chambers, a majority are women.
"

I just love the phrase "the first Native American women (New Mexico’s Deb Haaland and Kansas’s Sharice Davids, who is also a lesbian)..." Can anyone read that and keep a straight face...? All the evil Republicans and 'Conservatives' I know couldn't care less whether someone is a 'lesbian', but to the REAL racists on the 'progressive' left, that is the most important thing there is. Legislative agenda or intelligence or integrity is irrelevant, but thankfully we elected someone who likes carpet. How completely insane these 'journalists' and voters are....!

After reading the above article, it makes me see why you used to have to be a 'landowner' and 'male' to vote... :|

Nothing like extreme b.s. If they tried that shyt in Pa. we would marching to the state capital. You guys ought to organize and display some civil disobedience like they did in Colorado when they had the magazine ban a few years ago. It maybe law and you cannot buy large capacity mags but It's currently not being enforced. Most guys openly use them.

Got to nip it in the bud while the issue is hot or do what conservatives in Kalifornia are doing,,,move out....and take your money with you. ----6

Any attempt to challenge the legislation will take years to resolve.

In the meantime it's an easy set of choices.

Stay or go.

Obey the law, or don't.

In Pa. we have Philadelphia on the right and Pittsburg on the left.......with Alabama in between. The overwhelming majority of sq. miles in Pa. is conservative, gun loving, whiskey drinking good 'ole boys.

There's PLENTY of affordable housing in Pa.....jobs are everywhere.....the hunting is great, .......a $29 must issue carry permit with no classroom instruction b.s. ........ hardly any gun laws to speak of,.......A gunshow EVERY weekend......a gunclub to shoot every so many miles.......gun shops as plentiful as 7 Elevens. .........a great change of seasons..as to weather., ........ No earthquakes, hurricanes, or tornados of consequence.

You can have your choice of 435 different styles of wheelbarrows.

Say away from the toilets of Philly and Pittsburg and you'll live good.-----6.

I'm going to stay for a bit but this state is obviously lost. Sad to see the state I grew up in sell out to the left. Problem is I'm not sure where to go. Idaho has the same problem we have (big city leftists telling the rest of the state how to live).

That was Washington not all that long ago. How many states elected socialists this year? Lots. Don't be complacent. After the big cities get to outnumber the Rednecks, you might be in the same shape we're in out here. The People in WA voted this in. There's just not much you can do about that.

Blaine is right, folks can't get complacent anywhere. There has been a lot of law changes since they started with the 1934 federal act and I don't recall a lot of folks marching on city hall or having shoot outs with the national guard to reverse them in any state. Fact is most gunowners treat guns as a hobby these days and well fed folk don't go to war over hobbies. You need to win the battles politically before it gets to that stage.

Oh no, we do not get complacent. Every since I was little and started in this gun game, I used to hear the old timers talk...and thankfully, I let some of it sink in. I remember 30 years ago it was against the law to carry a gun into Philadelphia because they had their own set of rules, even with a Pa. state carry permit....well..with the NRA doing the brain work along with the support of gun owners changed all that.

For real, we nip it in the bud and it's always been that way. While other states have even more lienent gun laws than Pa., we have the NUMBERS. ......for instance, take Wyoming....great state to be a gun owner...but Pa. has more people on welfare in just Philly and Pittsburg than Wyoming has total population...in fact, Philly alone. For real, no B.S....If I want to, I can go to TWO or THREE gunshows every weekend if I so choose.....there's a silhouette levergun match ...or any shooting match....almost every weekend within driving distance.

Gun owners in Pa. have extremely short fuses when it comes to our rights...just look at me for example, a fuse that's 1/16" long. :D

O.K., enough bravado on Pa. .....it's our culture here in Pa. ...with guns. (Damm, I can't get away from it)...and always has been and unless you have that in your state, you don't have much choice but to move or be complacent with the laws. It's too far gone if your state already has these laws in effect.

Here...PRIME EXAMPLE......COLORADO.....yea, I used to hear stories when I was a kid that everybody in Colorado carrys a gun on their hip......yep....The Kalifornians moved in...with their money. The entire state is gun oriented except Denver. As you guys know, my son is an engineer with the UP railroad and I hear it all the time....they became complacent until it was almost too late.....money talks with liberals and they brought their ways with them. We all know what Mag Pul did. The law enforcement people came out and said they will not enforce the mag. ban......legislation introduced by an African American woman who said..."let them have their magazines as when they bullets are gone, they will just have to throw them out. Well, Coloradians had HER thrown out. You guys need to do the same.....fight! Band together, get the NRA......STAND AND FIGHT.....phuck those liberals....put the bucks up and take em to court......fight....MONEY CONTROLS HERE IN AMERICA.....so, instead of buying the latest gun, make your case clear with the NRA AND DONATE...THEN DEMAND RESULTS.

In Pa. we also have the Pa Gun Owners Association......yes, we take care of that group also. You guys need to band together and have a Washington State Gun Owners Association......donate money and DEMAND RESULTS as even well intentioned gun lawyers and gun groups get complacent with other people's money......once you see results, you will donate more money.....just like we do here in Pa.

Good luck guys..

I know what's ahead of you....NOW is the time to start getting your money together, contact the NRA.....STAND AND FIGHT....or move....your call.----6

Seriously?!

Is this a joke?!

Give up all medical confidentiality just because I want to exercise
my basic human right to be armed as enumerated in the 2nd
Amendment to the United States Constitution? I don't think so......

And if somebody steals your gun without your knowledge - maybe
you're - I dunno - on VACATION, and your gun is used in ANOTHER crime,
you're some how at fault?! WTF?

And this will do what to stop criminals?

Man - this is scary stuff.

I hope the NRA and SAF will file suit on this. It's totally, absolutely wrong what they've decided to classify as "assault" weapons.
For those not following this, that means ANY semi-automatic rifle. Maybe handguns, too.

I read (but didn't confirm) that the NRA only put up $200k to fight this. I'm not holding my breath that they help after the fact.

This is a good attitude and there should be more ecnouragement like you are doing by all americans to win. This fight should also cross borders, not just leaving fellow states to their own devices. Even write their politicians too. What folks don't realise is the anti-gun crew all group together on issues. They got big international money involved when they lobby a state so its not a fair fight. Folks need to support brethren in other states to even up the odds or they will lose them one by one. I'm not actually American but I lived in the US and I still support the NRA and some groups in new England area. That's because if you guys fall, the free world is in trouble.

Mickbr....absolutely! What MANY do not understand is that THE WORLD needs to get the guns out of American hands so they can put their plans for a one world order in motion. OUR guns are holding them back, because bullets kill. Duhhhhh! No doubt, some mass murders are done by design, especially when children are involved.

Brother, my mother grew up in Nazi Germany and while she was alive she used to tell us there is nothing more important in keeping your freedom than the people owning guns......without registration. Case after case after case of mass populace killing done by "governments" ....by starting with registration of guns.

Most all unknowing people with good intentions believe lives can be "saved" by disarming the populace...or at least letting the government know who has them..B.S!! YOU NEVER LET THE ENEMY KNOW YOUR COMING OVER THE HILL. .....and yes, the government is the enemy...Rome was not built in a day, nor lost in a day.----6

This. Tithe some range-time to go be an activist, and like Six said, "instead of buying the latest gun, make your case clear with the NRA AND DONATE"

It's less fun than standing around the gunshop griping, but writing legislaturds, organizing other gun owners, and yes - even MEETING with legislatures is vital.

Thankfully, GOA and the SAF and the NRA have done most of the infrastructure-work, and can direct you to more experienced pro-gun activists who can help you target your activities.

as for me I've decided not to end up retired in this State (WA), I moved away from the tyranny of NYS and it caught up with me here... the problem with Washington State is that the Republican/Conservatives are only 37-41% of this State's population, we are a minority just like CA...

in the County where I live we have increased our registered voters by 13,900 within the last three years, very few are conservative. Our last Republican stronghold in my County was 56%, after this mid-term election it has been cut to 49-50% with elected Republican candidates being voted out for the first time... it's very hard to fight against a progressive invasion... :(
