Yeah those types only tend to last in college towns and other yuppie areas.

Wanna guess how long a dude(ette) like that would last if he ventured out into the rural midwest, or a big-city ghetto....

When any of my daughters were six years old they would probably have left him for an ambulance to pick up.

A "Socialist" is someone who's too STUPID to recognize that they're a Communist.

A "male feminist" is a scrawny faggot who hopes to get laid someday.

Amazingly, there are plenty of fresh young ladies willing to go there, because somehow they're intimidated by actual normal male humans... :?

My daughter and her friends are millenial. Lots of tats and nose rings with blue hair, etc. All pretty good people...One has to be careful to judge people by their actions as opposed to the year of their birth. Don't forget we Boomers are responsible for most of the socialists in power.

Very true and good points.

We have 'millennials' in our family all across the spectrum, from SJW fools to normal smart rednecks like me.... :D

Hmmm... Not.

I disagree.

Or maybe I just can't include myself as in with the communist hippie college turd boomers of my youth.

While many of us on the forum would be 'boomers' age-wise, I doubt many of us contributed to the stereotypic snowflake-millennial epidemic.

However, 'we' were really the first generation in the world to grow up with a level of luxury really never seen before.

Many of our parents, born around the start of the 20th Century, were only exposed to automobiles when they went to the city, and grew up using outhouses, and sharing bedrooms with multiple siblings, doing hard physical 'chores', and so on. The mid-20th-century economic and technologic boom enabled them to spend their later years living a level of luxury that was unheard of elsewhere in the world at the time. Some of my relatives in that generation were actually Democrats, but that was when that party stood for 'the working man' and was nowhere near the socialist mess it is now.

That generation understandably wanted us to have an easier time of it, and many of us had chores, but easier ones, and many of us had to start out with a used bicycle, and years later a used automobile, and yet - very few of us worried about where our next meal would come from. We as a generation had enough education, money, and political clout that we pretty much have gotten our way in terms of public policy, and unfortunately, have often taken capitalism and just added a 'bit' of socialism when it suited our own interests, either by regulating a business competitor, subsidizing our own industry, or using the federal government to fund our charitable causes. The problem is - when 'just a little' socialism predictably screws things up, the easy 'fix' is just like a booze or drug addict coming down from a high - MORE of the same. So socialism has incrementally grown under our watch.

Unfortunately, many of OUR peers were too busy making money and living the high life to pay much attention to how their kids were growing up, and when they did, they sheltered the kids from everything that might upset or 'offend' them, participation trophies and all. Now, a big batch of those kids is in college and thinks they are smart (because nobody ever dared tell them otherwise), and yet they are politically and economically CLUELESS. Many of them are outright, proud-of-it socialists, and can't wait to take the reins of power from us.

Thankfully, many other of our peers were being good parents, raising kids with responsibility, ethics, discipline, and teaching them to think and analyze, rather than just memorize dogma. Those kids are our hope, and hopefully will outnumber the Snowflakes and Welfare-mooches and Gangbangers.

One thing for sure - we ALL need to step up and be the most active parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and mentors possible, to all the youngun's in our families...especially the 'most vulnerable' ones, because those are the ones most at risk to become Dumbocraps. By that I mean the ones who have the strange hair color or nose-rings or other crazy stuff, and the ones in 'academia', where any non-conformist, non-socialist thought is stifled. Take them camping or fishing or hunting if possible, or if you can't talk them into that, just some hiking and talking, or if they are hopelessly 'indoors' in lifestyle, find SOMETHING they like to do, and do it WITH them. You may have to be the 'uncomfortable' one, but spend time with them, talk with them, and find opportunities to educate them as to why socialism is destructive and dangerous. Remind them that any 'system' of government that depends on violence to force people to do things is a very dangerous thing, and a very immoral thing. Socialist countries don't have to put up fences to keep people from entering - they put fences up to prevent people from leaving.

I am right at the line where I could be a baby boomer or a Gen Xer. The Gen Xer group saw a lot of the things which needed fixing, but couldn't be bothered to look beyond our own hedonistic stunts. Beta O'Rourke and his attempting to run away from his drunken driving crash when he was almost twice the legal limit for being drunk is just one prime example. There are some good people in all age ranges. There are also some selfish jerks who think that the world owes them a living. Unfortunately, the selfish jerks are the most vocal and tend to devote the most time to haranguing those in power into just giving in to shut them up.
