A little range time

Post by 2ndovc »

Got to do a little shooting with a friend this weekend. He's an AR/ EBR guy but that's ok. One of the few 30 year olds I've met in awhile that has brain in his head! While he was fooling around with his night scoped super whatzit I wanted to get some time in with a Colt Defender.

The Defender is a real handful! This is one I'm really going to have to spend some "quality" time with. When I'm doing my part it shoots point of aim at 15 yds. The recoil is "abrupt" to say the least but I don't find it unpleasant. I do find myself anticipating the recoil and dropping the muzzle just a bit. Not enough for a miss but annoying. So far I've run 100 rounds of Remington 230 FMJ and 25 Federal Hydro Shock without a problem. Going to run a couple hundred of my slightly lighter hand loads through it to get a little more used to it. I think some thicker grips might help too. My hands are still a little messed up and not as strong as they used to be.

Kinda looks like it might want to come up a little bit. Bet it does carry real nice.
