Springs for Rossi m92 .357

Post by Old Dave »

Guys you were very helpful with me on my project to restore a Kessler Levermatic shotgun (which continues). I know you have probably discussed this topic before.
But I have a Rossi 92 in .357 but it is stiff as can be and shoots the hulls out at almost the speed of the bullet leaving the barrel. I find that there are a number of after market spring sets out there. Do you know which is the best choice?
Thanks

Definitely check out NKJ's website and DVD. He sells the appropriate replacement parts, or the DVD to show you how to fix your rifle yourself. Easy-peasy....

Plus 100 on Steve's guns for parts and knowledge. He diagnosed my pumas problem over the phone....and was spot on. Nice guy too.

By all means call Steve and order his video and spring set. I had to spend time looking for my .357 brass. Some went 20 feet or more, he also shows how to slick up the action real nice too.

I have installed a couple of Steve's ejector springs in my 92's. They work great and aleviated the damaging brass issue in my .32-20 also. The case mouths were being bent the factory spring was so over powered.

I'm seeing a trend here... On the flip side, I did my own modifications, starting well before Steve set up shop. Trial & error... Disassembling and re-assembling the gun many, many times before I got it working well. In fact, did three before I ever heard of Steve... my take-away... CONTACT STEVE!!!

I spent 6 months trying to find a Rossi 92 in .357 for our local metallic silhouette shoots. None to be found in the country, then on a whim I called Steve - he had just finished slicking up and refinishing the stock on the last one he had. Cost a bit more than an off the shelf Rossi, but boy does it shoot! And looks good too.

Highly recommend him!
