The magpie and pheasant are very colorful. How far did he run after being hit? Or did you get the spine.

The rooster was a 50yds shot to the neck and the magpie was across the pinions.

That magpie is quite purdy if ya think about it. Nath are they table fare or just considered a pest? People eat crows... Heck a buddy of mine used to eat titmouse and chickadee.

Ouch! Never got a Lathe to bite me but while in school a guy got too close to the mill ONCE! He lost a hunk of scalp.

I enjoyed those photos, Nath.

Sorry, the fox was semi sleeping a meal off in a field.
I had to manoeuvre a gate and close the range down to 50yds in full view of her at night. I carefully made sure she could not skyline me! I needed to be conscious of close property should a bullet take off again!

She occasionally licked her coat, I waited until her neck was bent and lined up with her body for maximum penetration.
She never flinched!

Sorry to hear about the illness and lathe slip. But good to see your back to doing well. Those magpies are pretty birds.
I shot my first fox last fall, missed the first shot with a 44 mag and the thing came right back and gave me a second shot. It didn't look as nice as yours with that gaping hole the big slug put in it. May you have many more trips afield.

Dang Nath, I know 'Chicks dig scars' but that appears to be overkill. Glad you're back in the field and thanks for the excellent report.
