The originals were, and needed a carriage to haul them around, this is a scaled down version. I love it!

Interesting choice for a scaled down gattling gun! I saw a very small scale gattling gun a long time ago in .22LR. I like the .45 Colt idea much more.

Woo Hoo! Put me in fer a donation! Just a thought, does the ATF consider this a machine gun even though it's a manually operated firing system?

Nope, not considered a machine gun. Now, if you put an electric motor on it, it would be, just like a mini-gun.

It might be scaled down, but not by much, as I think it still weights on the order of 300 lbs or so. It really needs a carriage, unless you have a couple of friends that will help you haul it around.

Bad thing, it uses sleeves to hold the 45 colt case and if memory serves me right, the bore of the sleeve is .460, so when you shoot, you have a .454" bullet rattling down a .460 bore, and to make it worse, the barrels are 45 rifle barrels with a .458" bore. Not very accurate.

I guess you could rechamber the sleeves to 460 S&W and use a 455 Webley hollow base bullet, cast fairly soft, so it might expand to fit the sleeve and then not rattle down the rifle bore.

the sleeves are what is used in the gun origionally (1863 gatling) but they are of the percussion rifle type. Load the sleeve with black powder, seat the bullet and put a percussion cap on. these just have been modified to use a 45 Colt case.

What would be interesting is you probably could have sleeves turned out of 35 cal barrels, then rechamber to 38 special, then you would be shooting the gun, have 1.25" of rifled barrel, like a snub-nose revolver, then the bullet would travel down the 45 rifle barrel, not touch the barrel probably, and get decent accuracy.

Hardly worth the $7K they're asking in that case!
