Anyone have experience with subsonic .308 loads

Post by rjohns94 »

I have a .30 cal can in the works and have come across some factory subsonic .308 200grainers at the local toy store. Two different brands. One is a HPBT and the other is a soft point. Wondering about about effectiveness on deer? Thoughts?

Just be sure your twist is fast enough so they don't yaw in the can and strike a baffle.

As for terminal performance on game, maybe see what bullet the 300 Blk crowd uses for deer.

I did it with some Speer 170 flat points on h4227.
They just drilled with no expansion so be careful on large game!
