So...

Mama has allowed you to have a man cave &/or cabin in the woods or you have a secret Lab somewhere under your home.

Proper wiring is just not reasonable right now.

That spare closet where you keep your man card is really, really dark, but you just cant climb up into the attic and run romex right now.

Enter the Hack... and it's not even really a Bubba hack. It's genuinely "new school".

Hie Thee to WalMart and enter the realms of the Automotive section.

Find the area that sells "Truck Bling".

Therein, for about $30 you should discover some LED lamps designed to light a truck bed (8 lights, 2 strings of 4).



Press the button. It's OK, only the Cameras are watching. HOLY BUGGERING BEERCANS THOSE ARE BRIGHT!

OK, BUY THEM. Then go to Radio Shack and buy TWO 12v under-dash switches.



Now, here's the fun bit... Each "kit" comes with enough lights to light up 2 closets or one small room. Each half of the kit runs for dang-nar forever on 2 9v batteries hooked in serial (one of these pairs comes with the kit, gratis).

Take the kit home and string them up. Put the switch inline where it works best for you. Almost instant fill lighting for hard to light spaces... Add battery boxes or other geegaws as desired.

Houses will soon have low-voltage wiring so they can use REAL 'LED lamps' instead of expensive, inefficient 120 volt AC ones requiring transformers in each bulb...

I'll have to swing by there, but we have one of those less-than-super-wallmart's. Wife and I refer to it as the smallmart.
