Marlin CBS (Crossbolt safety) Delete: Plug or Saddle Ring

Post by Pete44ru »

.

I thought that the owners of later Marlin blued or stainless leverguns might be interested in a "fix" for it's CBS.

Here's the plain replacement plug:

Here's the plug, with a saddle ring:

This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

Hmmm, I wonder how a saddle ring would look on a short rifle? ( Marlin 1894 Cowboy 20" octagon barrel )

Right now I have the old Ludwig unit in mine and don't care for it. I know these are made the same, but the saddle ring intrigues me.

I've got a circa 2001 Marlin 444 I got a few years back . Anyway I installed one of these guys plugs and I like it a good bit better . Not a fan of the saddle ring unless it was on the rifle when it left the factory .
