It's only mocked up at this point, maybe a 1/3 done
It's not glued or pinned
I started around 9 or so this morning stopped around 5 this evening
I started and finished a tomahawk yesterday, didn't get to take a pic yet, my neighbour wanted it right then
So I traded him 2 5 gallon buckets of okra, 3 buckets of tomatoes and 5 bushels of peas for it
And my wife grumbles cause I don't hold a steady job
Seriously the lord has been very good to us thata way and many other ways also
I'm hopin it turns out, maybe I can trade for a pone of cornbread
To answer your question, I guess it's just my job

Oh and it's not hardened or tempered yet
Been lookin a little closer at it, I think I'll spilt the ivory spacer and put a thin piece of brass or stainless between it
Also gonna put a false edge on the clip
Dang that cornbread, if it turns out I might just put it on my gunbelt, I dont have one of my own knives, this might be the one

A simple and handsome blade, very interested in seeing a final photo with all changes and false edge sharpened to serious intent. You'd be a fool to trade this one away

Hey Plowboy!
I cannot post pics for the life of me lately, major problems with photobucket.
If you have a pic or two handy show them a pic of the 6 inch ATS 34 with the stag inlaid with jasper and brass spacers you made for me. The finest knife I have ever had, bar none. Great sheath too.

Nice looking knife plowboy. I know how hard it is keeping something for yourself. I always tell myself I can make another one but never happens. I've been thinking of making a .62 flintlock with a short barrel as a speck gun and try to keep it for a little while before I sell it. Keep up the good work.

Here you go Griff
Haven't done anything other than start the sheath
There's goin to be three loops spaced evenly down to where the turn is at
Had the second one started, then my little 2 1/2 year old granddaughter thought I was making her a bracelet, so now got to redo a second loop
She really loves that bracelet, says its just beautiful, it's her 4th one, but that's ok, pretty little girls deserves beautiful jewelry

Re: 1/3 done

I'm sure of it now, this one will be mine
Midday I placed it in the sheath, placed it on top of my wifes car, I'm sure you know the rest of the story
28 miles was the distance it rode, but that's not all, while we sat and ate a steak no one took it
:?: :?: :?: maybe nobody likes my knives, wouldn't even steal it of the roof of the car
Most everyone notices her dodge challenger, but you know I still didn't notice the knife, when I started the car, she said get out and get that knife off the top of my car before it scratches my paint
If it can't be lost or stole, it may as well stay with me

That's amazing, You need to keep it after that. I just noticed MS. is in the 90's,
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I blued the blade, I really like it that way, I draw filed the blade then sanded to 400 grit then blued
Bluing seem to hide some of my goof ups
I went ahead and put a sharp edge on the clip
Gonna sharpen the cutting edges 2mar of course that will take the blue off and leave both edges shiny
I'm going to keep this one for all the earlier reasons plus I forgot to stamp it while it was hot
Thanks for all the comments

Chuck I've got 3 ground out of ats34 got to pick them up from heat treat, I have a friend with an oven
They are full tang hunters, and most likely will have stainless bolsters
Also I'm going to rebuild my homemade grinder, hopefully it'll look like yours and my friend that does my heat treat
If it won't be to boring or get to old for everyone I'll post some of them, no necessarily for sale, just to add something new
There's only so many lever guns I own
