44/40 head stamp

A buddy of mine was at the range a few days ago and picked up about 50 rounds of brass that r 44/40's. He knows I load that round so he brought them to me. The head stamp is one I've never seen before. I would like to know who made them it says IMPACT below that at 9:00 there's a 3. The other side at 3:00 either a 0 or a D it looks more like a D. And of course it has the caliber below that. Just curios.

My favorite caliber but I've heard of that IMPACT. Did you try Googling it?

I looked it up. It's made by 3D which I've heard of. Probably have some of it in 45ACP. Nothing wrong with it I know of.

If I recall 3D was bought out by Hornady, about 15 years ago.

WOW Who can afford to shoot a 44WCF and not save the brass and/or not reload?!

Thanks for the info. At my old club I don't think anyone reloaded there. One time I found 100 rds of once fired .45/70's another time found 20 rds of 375 H&H. my range bag was always heavier leaving. I ended up with 10 5 gallon buckets of brass in a few years. I just don't understand it. I've been reloading for 40 years. When I turned 21 I bought a Colt SAA .45 Colt. Wasn't able to start reloading at the time but I kept all my brass. Still have some of that brass.

Likewise... I don't either... me too... As soon as I got out of the military, (hard to reload on a ship, at sea)... likewise!

I usually keep 200-1000 pieces of new brass for every caliber I reload... and feel downright panicky when I run out of "once" fired brass to load... even if I just finished reloading 1,000 rounds of that round!
