Spring time elk

coming home this afternoon about a 1/2 mile from the house saw these girls along the road 25 to 30 some were bedded 7-8 yearling calves too. danny

Nothing like an elk jumping out in front of you,and I do not drive anything as big as what Griff does.

you should see what a moose in the road looks like from a compact rental car when cresting a hill on the Sterling Highway at almost dawn.

Hope they make it to maturity. These days most wind up as wolf kabobs.

Thanks for the pics! Love this time of year! Heading to camp after work tomorrow , with spring gobbler hunting and steelhead, walleye, and perch fishing on the agenda :D

thanks for the thanks, its good to see calves again in this herd and they are doing better as the local wolf pack is just about gone. danny
