Fantastic Minnesota day

Post by walks with gun »

Things have been going remarkably well this week, kinda scares me, anyway my baby girl graduates college in four weeks and is getting married in six. So after work today the weather was in the mid 70's, the girls had girl stuff to do, so my future son in law grabbed our six guns, minnows, and poles and headed out to a beaver pond I know were we can fish off the dam. Caught a mess of Sunfish and Crappies for dinner Sunday night and pretty much just had a great evening. Fish weren't all that big so we didn't need the handguns, but I'd feel more than a little naked traipsing through the woods without one anyway. The kids want me to take them next weekend too.

Last 2 days have not been nice. Snow flurries for 10 mins then 20mins of sunshine. Then it repeats itself all the time the wind 30-40mph from the NW. Nights are still dropping into the high 20"s. But at least it aint rainind and 40F.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
