Frickles!

Post by wecsoger »

(humor me, I'm taking a day off after a long business trip)

Beginning of this week, I was in the general Memphis area, Arlington to be specific working at one of my facilities.

Went out to lunch and saw this little hole-in-the-wall place, Off The Hoof, which sold a variety of burgers, to include elk, venison, etc.

(right on 70, just off of 385 and not far from I-40)

But they also sold deep-fried dill pickles.

I hear this is now becoming A Culinary Thing, and breaded deep-fried anything I have trouble turning down.

Little tub of stuff was sort of a mix of mayo and ranch dressing, which was also excellent.

I highly recommend them if you're in the area.

Interesting. Had some in West Virginia back in '98, only they were not the "chips" but rather long wedges of dill pickle, breaded and fried. Surprisingly good. Haven't seen any since then, but they're on the radar in case we run across them again.

I thought that food was on display all the time at Hooters. Some of the food observed had Frickles or was it freckles.

The first time i tried those things --- i couldnt stop until the appetizer basket was all gone --- they triggered some kind of completely irrational craving in my brain ! Delicious

Problem is i have somewhat of a sensitive stomach and too much grease will send me over the edge --- it did and i re-decorated the bathroom stall at the restaurant 20 minutes later

I still like 'em, but now i try to exercise a little restraint and not shove fistfuls of them into my mouth at once
