Best TV Western ever made. A lot of it shot on the famous Bell Ranch in New Mexico. And Mr Favor is the main star, not some kid named Clint Eastwood.

Never saw a bad Rawhide..... It was always clear cut Good v. Evil, just like most of the good old westerns....

Have you seen the one where Roudy Yates shoots the guy in the back? A big gun battle with the entire crew of the drive shooting it out with some rustlers. I am sure the script did not call for Roudy to back shoot the guy but the editors cut the film in such a way it appears he did shoot the guy in the back.

It is ok to shoot rustlers in the back. It is their fault for being running cowards and not turning around to face you for the fight!

I saw one where he did. If it is the one i saw. Those were "commancheros". Anyway you kill one of tjose is ok. They were worse than Injins. In the episode i saw they were human trafficers as well as thieves

Sheb Wooly was a bigger star than Eastwood when the show began. Still to this day can't believe he sang the song "Purple People Eater' after seeing him in Rawhide in the day.
