Cinnamon Bear Rug Home Man Cave

I just recently have received my cinnamon bear rug and have now put it on my office wall. It was beautifully done
and is a welcome addition. I killed this small cinnamon bear in BC in the Caribou region while hunting with Chris Condie from
Windy Mountain Outfitters. Because of the beautiful color is was an easy choice to stalk, hoping one day it would be on my wall where I could recount the memories. I got a larger bear two days later of the black variety on the same trip. Wanted to share with those of you who enjoy such beauty from the bear family.

I forgot to mention that I shot this cinnamon bear from 150 yrds with my Winchester 94 AE 356, one shot down and dead.

That is a really cool bear skin rug! 8)

Despite my desire for such a rug, and bears being common hereabouts, I have resisted shooting one as I don't care for the meat.
On the other hand, it has been quite a few years since I ate bear... Hmmm, that rug is inspiring, maybe I should give this some thought...

FWIW, absolutely the BEST sausage I've ever eaten, including all the various commercial pork sausages (sweet/hot Italian, keilbasa, brats, chorico/linguica, whatever) was some Black Bear sausage made up by a Canadian/Indian guide in New Bruinswick, which was processed with some mildly-warm Italian seasonings.

It flat kicked butt, when grilled, then eaten as the filler in some good Italian sub rolls, slathered with mustard.

I remembered it as not too good from eating it when I was young, but a buddy of mine gave me some from a Mi black bear a month or so back and it was pretty durned good, maybe our tastes change as we age?

Like venison, so much of their flavor comes from what they ingest. Then, there's the processing and how that affects the meat. I've had elk, venison & boar that I've enjoyed, and those that I couldn't stand to eat more'n bein' polite!

Actually because it was spring I did not bring the meat home, I gave it to the First Nation families.

If you weren't so far away I'd tell you to shoot away and I'd come get the meat. Might anyway!

The bear I shot in Maine in 2010 was full of applesauce from eating rotten apple out of an old, grown-up orchard. My wife did not care much for game meat, but when I brought that home and grilled part of the backstrap, she was hooked. Now she eats deer and antelope like never before. The only thing about bear meat is to eat it while it's warm! If it cools off it's like chomping into a slab of lard :D
