My next rifle's gonna be a Henry

Post by firefuzz »

I've got a Henry lever-action .22 set back for my oldest grandson, but I've never been big on the Henry center-fire rifles simply because no. 1, I like Winchester designs, and no. 2, IMHO lever gun should have side loading ports not tube ports like a rimfire. Other than those small issues I think the Henry's are pretty nice rifles.

This morning I saw this auction: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =441287444 I'm not in any way affiliated with Henry or the young person involved and I can't afford to bid on this auction, but I think that any company that will donate A rifle, let alone 100 rifles to the cause on an ill child deserves at least a little of my financial support.

Kudos to all involved in this project.

I could see a Big Boy in .357 one of these days....They seem every bit as well put together as the Japanese WinChesters, and superior to the Italians, or South American '92s.....

New .357 Big Boy Carbine, 16.5-inch barrel, three Hornady LEVERevolution 140-grainers into less than an inch last range session, 100 yards. :)

I'm tired of waiting for the Henrys to prove themselves.
Non-traditional, like 'em or not, but the things WORK!!!!!

My nephew's first rifle will be a Henry ! --- he turns 12 in January, so he is about due

I can't bid on something like that, but would not mind floating a sawbuck or two to the cause ---- i always feel like donating during the holidays
shoot, i work claims in the Sedan area sometimes -- Kansans are my friendly neighbor to the North

Well, I been thinkin' about another levergun, this time in 30-30. I was waffling between a used Marlin, or perhaps a '94, but I'm seriously considering a Henry after reading that link...

Outstanding!

That tube loading system once turned me off. It really is a fine idea. I had a buddy once drop the hammer while unloading a Win 94.
