Thanks for that! I have been making a few knives lately myself.That guy is a craftsman for
sure. Mine are basic compared to something like that.
What in the wild world of sports is going on here

Very informative... Very cool... I've worked SS that was pretty tough.. But nothing so tough that it would start cracking after 3 licks before it had to be fired again... Must be a million licks in that beautiful blade...

I like the gas furnace with the vortex inside.

I read once that the best Japanese blades have the steel folded 15 times. That makes 33,000 layers of steel welded together.

The sparks when he is sanding the blade to shape have a point where they fork just before going out. I don't know what material in the blade causes that, but it is something that a trained knife smith would know. Cool video.

I use the exact technique but with coal instead of gas. No meteorite though. It would be interesting to try.
