That was a weeks pay (or more) in those days. Colts have never been easily affordable.

It is neat to dream though :D -----------6

There was one of the revolvers out here last week at the gun shop.

On further thought, I would like to tell you about a conversation I had with an real, real, OLD guy, back in the seventies.

I was just a punk kid (about 20) attending a gunshow, at the beginning of my Winchester collecting. At that time, a nice 1886 in standard configuration could be had for about $400 and IIRC, I was grossing about $225 a week at my peon job driving a forklift.

So......I'm at this table eyeing up this 1886 that the old timer wanted $400 for and I asked him how come these guns cost so much to which he replied, " Winchesters and Colts have never been an easy item to buy, and an owner of these guns was held in high esteem." I guess its like the guy who drives a new 'vette today.-------------6
