44 cal heavy's !

Post by 6pt-sika »

Loaded some stuff for my circa 2001 Marlin 444 that has the Ballard faster twist barrel !

Some of the Mountain Molds 433-400GC I had cut a few years back , some of the LBT 433-400GC I hed veral cut a couple years ago , some from the BRP/RD 432-400GC HP I had Bruce Brandt cut two years ago and finally some of the "Doc Holiday" 433-425GC from the Mountain Molds mold I got from Mt Sourdough !

All were loaded with 36 grains of RL-7 .

Your nose punch doesn't fit? Are the noses deformed, or is it a reflection?

I bet those babies are a bruiser to shoot! I load the 375 with 41 grains of RL-7 in a larger 45-70 case for 1700 and they bite.

Looks like perfect elk medicine.

Test 'em out yet? What is the twist on your Marlin, 1-18?------------6

I've already tried them all before with RL-7 and Varget .

Just trying to get them all in about the same POI at 100 yards . DCP starts in a couple weeks and I figured I'd try out the heavy hitters this time !

I shot a 4 point buck at about 40 yards two years ago with the solid nose version of that HP shown and it as you might expect flattened hm and he was DRT . Think I was about 40 feet above him what me being 30 feet or so up the tree and the tree I was in being a bit above where he was standing .
