well... this could prove interesting...

Post by Old Ironsights »

My delivery truck got adopted today... by a polydactyl tom kitten hiding out from a fairly ugly thunderstorm.

Didn't notice he snuck into the cab until he climbed out of my jacket - where he had apparantly bedded down - and decided to walk my shoulders.

Obvioisly not feral, but given this Route, not a Pet either... though he wants to be. Uses his Thumbs properly too...

Now the question is... how will the 13y/o cat and the 6y/o dominant Tom deal with a 2 month old...

:P You have been provided with a unique opportunity...You know what to do....but, then, on the other hand, I've been drinking heavily......(every cat I've ever had was an orphan needing a buddy desparately....Not always to my advantage... , but they made their way into my heart  )

He's got thumbs... and they are nearly opposable.

I was thinking I'd teach him how to post on forums and handle a pistol...

Kinda how I got one of my dogs. She became the best friend I've ever had!!

I had cats growing up, my dad just didn't like dogs, and I was always bringing another one home.
I only had one that wouldn't adapt and get along with the others and had to find her a new home. She had
been the only animal in the house and would hide and run from everyone. Once she was back in an "only cat"
situation again she was fine.

I'd still have one or two if my allergies weren't so bad.

Never tried it myself, but I had a buddy that believed that the best use of small cats is as fish bait.

He used to haul in some nice Blue sharks on a regular basis.

Whatever works.

You've been chosen, bro. Let your other two gatos raise him up and show him the ropes. That's a nice age spread that should keep you in catness until 2025 or longer.
Of course you know we'll need photographic documentation ...

Rescued animals are the best! If they choose you, well just go with it. I doubt you'll regret it.

From all the effort he put into meeting you I'd say you've acquired a pretty good buddy. :D

OI
my wife has brought in kittens with no big problems with here old tom (less a few parts)
she might leave it in a cage a few days just so the old cat don't get a surprise & kill it

is it a mitten paw cat?

OI,

You been adopted. Don't push the little fellow away. We were adopted by a 24 toed pollydactyl female about 2 years ago now. She "sort of" gets along with the middle female cat but to my wife and I she is the friendliest, lovingest, smartest, most possessive little calico cat we've ever had. She also likes to ride on our shoulders.

As far as integrating into the house with the other kitties, it will either take a bit of time, or they'll welcome him like he's always been there.

Here's a pic of Pollyanna.

Way to go. My brother inlaw picked up our cat on I75 as a baby. He was the best cat ever. I still miss him. He really brightened our lives for 16 years. Spoil this little guy rotten.

We've got an old tom that was found on the side of the road as a kitten with a terribly messed up front leg. It was messed up bad enough that they had to amputate it. The folks that found and raised him had to let him go and Mrs Willy took him in. To only have 3 legs, he gets around pretty good.
