What is it?

Post by claybob86 »

This was found in a pasture on a farm in Texas. I'm thinkin' its part of a wire stretcher for building fences, but I don't really know.

Rope or chain keeper. Keeps the rope from slipping out/through a pulley.

I think.

I belive its for twisting the wire on a fence. helps keep the wire tight and when it has to be retightend you just twist wire again.
it hooks right to the fence post.

Definitely not a sky hook, only the gullible would believe in those. I believe it's one of those "tent stretchers" they used to send us looking for at boy scout camp. Never could find one, or a smoke sifter or dehydrated water either.

I see there's lots of good, quality answers for Claybob. :D

You idiots! look again! Its a saddle for a u-bolt. In case the u-bolt wants to take a ride on a horse, it does not have to go looking for it and if the u-bolt wants to stop at the Peep show, he has a quarter for the slot.--------------6
