Browning Prototype

A friend of mine owns this prototype. Up for auction now, there are some letters you can read on the site, explains the gun and its Journey.
This same friend of mine had either the prototype or one of, the BLR's in 358win also. I had chance to buy it once several years ago, but must have been in some kind of coma because I didn't buy it. Gone now.

Re: Browning Prototype
Intresting !
For my money however , I'd rather have one of the 3-5 Marlin 336ER's in 307 WIN they kept hid away in a safe in the old Marlin factory .

Re: Browning Prototype
So, I guess the original 30-30 wasn't a Win 94.
44-40 Winchester. Whacking varmits and putting meat on the table since 1873.

Re: Browning Prototype
Nope - There's plenty of Model 1893 Marlins out there, some of them takedowns.44-40 Willy wrote:So, I guess the original 30-30 wasn't a Win 94.
A dealer from CT had a short takedown two-barrel set in .30-30 & .38-55, he had F/S at NE gunshows for at least 10 years w/o any takers.

I'd rather have the max appraised value of the gun rather then the gun itself !
That amount could pay half of what a nice home will cost me in Cagayan de Oro
