A Different .44 Special
I stumled across this, while surfing this AM - one of Charter's new revolver finishes, even stamped "Tiger" on the bbl.
I almost didn't see it. .

I like it!
Blue steel and walnut is to be preferred, stainless, is
more practical, but I like it anyway.
And I'm a fan of the 44 Special cartridge...

I like it. Looks like something John Wayne could have been carrying in "Green Berets".
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Actually I have nothing against it as a carry piece since the finish would (usually) take a bit of a beating. Well, I wouldn't mind a concealed hammer .44 Special....

Take that baby home and chop off the hammer spur, smoothen up the action, then see how it fits in the back jeans pocket.-------------6

Re: A Different .44 Special
Mine is of 4 years or so ago vintage, and locks up tight, shoots nice. I put a set of Crimson Trace grips on it and it's my 'normal' CCW gun.Friends Call Me Ji wrote:What the quality control like on the latest crop of Charter Arms guns?

I've been lusting for a nice 'CCW' style 45 Colt for along time. I'd think a minimally-wider frame opening could contain the minimally-wider cylinder needed to do it.Griff wrote:I'd like that in a .45Colt.

Nothing wrong with a good rust resistant finish. I don't need one of that particular type, but when has need been the deciding factor?
