I can't do this again - update.

Post by J Miller »

Since I posted that I didn't want to move all this stuff again we've shredded and tossed 8 or 9 large trash bags of papers and old bills and documents. Some from as far back as 1983 :o .
Thrown out boxes of junk, sold two sewing machines and gave one away at Christmas time.
Re-boxed and condensed a lot of other things too.

AND it still don't look any emptier. Where in the world does all this junk hide?
The sad part is we really haven't been able to work in the garage yet due to the weather being so cold. That's what I want to get to. Empty that out so we can organize the stuff we're gonna keep and actually see what we have.

Moving is not for the week and feeble, that's for sure.

............................................................................

The house we were looking at in IN didn't pan out. Somebody with $$$$$ put an offer on it.
We haven't heard from the loan lady yet. Got a letter from them that was not comprehensible by lay persons. All legaleeze and Greek to me. Talked about credit ratings and basically didn't tell us yes or no on the loan.

We're still working on the cleaning. I told my wife that we just need to work steady at it and not let our emotions put us in a panic. Easier said than done.

All prayers are appreciated. We still need 'em. And thanks for all of them.

Probably get me booed at, but I can tell you from experience over decades that computer forums can become a near disastrous eater of time. Anybody remember the CompuServe Forums from back in the pre-internet days? Usenet groups? Uh huh, I see some of you nodding your heads out there... :D

I've had some that I needed a 12 Step Program to get weened off of! Thank God you guys are not that interesting!!

But seriously, I mean it. Evaluate your computer useage time, perhaps make sure you're not doing it in the most useful times of the day, and keep it to a healthy level.

Yes, Joe, refreshed prayers sent. This is going to be one of those "opportunity" things that I know you won't regret...when your chance to make a final move, you won't regret being ready for it. Nothing like the stress of having to do three months equivalent-worth of work in a week. I know, I've done it and it's much less enjoyable than the "fun" you're having now!!

Joe:

Prayers for strength sent. Remember that nothing worth doing is easy. It is a simple fact of life that anything worth doing takes effort, time, and energy.

You shoulda bought them their own moving van. They could have left the stuff in the van and saved work.

Hang in there ............... easier said than done. We're wasting time and neither of us are working together.

When time comes to move we're gonna still be burried beneath a ton of pelosi and guess who will have to load and unload most of it. Go ahead, I'll give you all one guess. :x

It's the "inspection" part that will cause all the trouble.

Going thru the same after living in my house for 26 years. Am having a hard time letting go of things having been raised to save things in case you may need them, but I am beginning to realize that I cannot save everything. At 62 this is a new world for me but I am beginning to let go of outdated or useless things. I was always one to use what I had to make things I needed. I have used old computer cases to fabricate a battery holder in my old truck and used angle iron to fabricate shock mounts when the originals broke. And the list goes on.

NOW I'M upset!!! <-- That is not what I typed
A couple weeks ago the real estate lady the we were talking to about the house in Indy said that there was an offer on it and that she did not want us to have to drive all the way over there just to put in a counter offer.
I keep watching her listings and it is still there, NOT SOLD, or updated in any way.
Today I got a letter from the mortgage company stating that they were sorry that we had decided not to go with them for a loan..?????????????
Like what the ??.
I called her last month and left her a voice mail about it wanting to know our status.
She did not return the call and now this morning I called and left another voice mail. The letter had her email address which I did not have prior to today so she is going to get an email. We could have been moved. Maybe???
