Congratulations for the fine meals ahead! The pics look very nice too.

I forgot that some WMA's are open to doe hunting for the two weeks. My area, 4E, opens for doe on Dec. 1. Didn't matter because we didn't even see a deer today but we had a real highlight before noon, a mother bear and two cubs waddled through our neck of the woods. Mama was a butterball and the cubs looked healthy too. We had a nasty wind blowing most of the day. The tree I have my stand belted to has claw marks from me trying to stop it from trying to get me airborne.

My firsy day out will not be until Wednesday NOV 28th due to commitments. I'll be hunting near French Creek Park with my older Glenfield carbine in 30-30. Is your 99 a 300?

I like your outfit. I have same coat as yours but lacking the wool pants. I recognize your Stormy cap.

Don't feel bad about the small-ish deer. It's good game management to take a cross section of the herd: older, middle aged, and young of both sexes.
