I think your state (WA) is a little more rational than mine (OR). Portlandia would rather close the airport, for 4 days again, than use a snow plow or salt the roads.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Better here when they DON'T salt the roads, or even plow them; those of us in the hills have to use 4wd anyway, and if we can get out to the 'main roads', only to find them glaze-ice after a plow-job, we'd rather have snow to get traction in. If enough folks have tire-chains to break up the pack once in awhile (and go reasonable speeds), traffic does well.

We seldom get snow, but lots of ice. The neighbors all want to pave our little one lane road... I keep tellin' them, "NO"! That last 40' to the road is uphill... you'll never get out when it ices over. I have chains, so I could... but I hate chainin' up!

Totally agree! Igits here salt all day, temperature drops to single digits, next morning vehicles are playing bumper cars.

Pokey, That is a right purdy picture, Normally I am residing south of you by the Clark County fair grounds area.
But I am suffering in the darn sunshine in Yuma Az. Going to the range on Weds. for sight in-practice day, shoot some silhouette's on Friday. I would like to be home to go razor clam digging though. Can't do it all. Keep the fire burning. post more pic's if you get more snow.

Pokey, our snow faded yesterday, but it is supposed to resume this afternoon. I'm at 2500 feet about 20 miles from the California border near Ashland. I'd hate to be driving over Siskiyou Summit on I-5 for next few days, as they are talking about FEET of snow here in the southern Cascades.

Blaine: I lived in Fircrest from 61-68; we often went to Spanaway to swim on summer days.

The Lake is still pretty nice, except for the usual "trash" that shows up with rap blasters  Trolling with a Wedding Ring and magot will produce a monster Brown every so often. The stock rainbows, but I wouldn't fish for them as they bred the fight and taste out of them, I guess.
They are talking about a foot of new over the next 24-36 hours in the lowlands around here. Personally, I don't care..I think it's pretty.

Don't even joke about salting the roads! There's a reason we have so many nice old rust free cars, and I like that!
