Leverguns!!!!

Post by Griff »

Okey dokey... we ain't done a leverporn pic series for some time! Taking mine out to take a pic of the '50 I posted in Joe's thread, ended up with several of mine leaned up against the safe door.

Image
From the left:
1972 mdl 64A, .30-30
1986 Uberti 1873, .45Colt
1979 mdl 94 custom rifle, .30-30
1978 mdl 94 carbine, .30-30
1976 mdl 94 Bi-Centennial Commemorative, .30-30
2002 EMF/Rossi 1892 Short Rifle, .45Colt
2008 Uberti Henry, .45Colt
1964 Canadian Centennial coverted to trapper, .30-30
1950 mdl 94 carbine, .30-30

Argghhhh... just thought about getting a bunch more out, cleaning the cosmoline off and taking a bigger pic... Nope, not gonna happen... other chores await my attention! Heck, still have another .30-30 and a .38Spl Rossi 1892 in the safe... plus a Marlin or two... dern door's not wide enough!

Ok Griff,
Top to bottom, Marlin 1894 44 mag, 336C 30/30, Homemade 444, Rossi 357, Marlin 1893 32/40, Marlin 1893 38/55, 1889 44/40.
Image

Top to bottom again, BLR81 7MM08, Marlin 1894 25/20, homemade 336SC 30/30, Marlin 1889 32/20
Image

Left to right this time, 1895 45/70 buttstock on rack barrel in corner, (I need more room ) Marlin model 36 30/30, 336SC 35 Rem, Marlin 336/44mag, Marlin 39M, 336A 35 Rem, Henry youth 22, Marlin 308MX. Thats a Mossberg bolt shotgun leaning against the cabinet & a Crickit 22 behind it. To the left of the rack, behind the 45/70, is a Mossberg 12GA, a stock & a 58 caliber muzzle loader. This covers most of them I think, leverguns anyways.

Here is the 39M Octagon I bought from the shop Hobie works for.

I did some research on it, about 2100 of these were made in 1973, the only year they were made.

Griff,
I just don't know anymore. I really don't care---some go--some come. After 40 years it becomes boring. It like "do I pick up a gallon of milk or 4 quarts of cow juice.

By homemade I mean parts guns really. I shouldn't say home made in here though, theres a guy here who actually makes them from scratch. I just acumulate pieces until I can build a rifle.
The 444 was made on a 336 action but everything except the reciever is a 444 part. The 30 30 is built on a pre saftey 336 action with a 336SC barrel & tube. I fit & finish the wood, fiddle with the actions until they work & have my smith install the barrel, get headspacing right & finish the metal. The 1889's are puzzles too as is the 1893 32/40, the 1894 25/20 and another 1894 32/20 that I dont think was in those pics. Just got that one back. I wanted a 32/20 I could scope so I took my 1894C & swapped in a 1894CL 32/20 barrel I had laying around. Was pretty much a simple barrel swap except for needing a different loading gate. Heres that one.
Image
Image
I need to redo the buttstock & see if I can stain the right side to match the other & reshape the comb a little.

My wife gave up on me & guns awhile ago, it dont make sense to her but she lets me alone about it.

I'v got a .356 Marlin barrel I need an action for next and a 38/40 1889 half together on the bench & a 51 336 35 Rem project. I hope it never ends. 8)

Great collections - I'm a little on the short side number-wise -

BL 22 rimfire -

Winchester 94s in 30-30 -

And this orphan waif Winchester 95 in 30-06 I picked up from an estate - NIB, unfired, with manual - at a price I won't divulge because it could lead to my being put into the slammer for stealing -

Image

Image

My guess is I'm not getting any sympathy for being so deprived - I also have a wife who gave me the last two for birthday gifts !!

Griff,

The rack was made to fit a certain space at the Range. The old rack held 7, this one holds 15, but yes, more are available.
