Win 94 SRC

Post by pwl44m »

Picked One up today. Not bad,not beat up . Mfg 1919, has a lot of blue left, bore is bright and shiny with good grooves. It has a small dent about 4 inches from the end of the mag tube. I haven't tried load it so I don't know if it will hold as many rounds as it is supposed. I don't know how much space between the tube and follower but hope it is OK. I Jewed Him down to $500.He wouldn't give Me a price other than $1800 for a starter. He kept bugging Me to make an offer so I did. He thought for a moment then said OK. I'm Happy.
Now if I get that 311 I will have to stay out of Gun Shops for a while.
I only took a couple pics the other day when I cleaned it.

What, r U talkin about ? The chip out of the Stock and the finish job and the lack of Blue. Those aren't issues - they R Character. LOL
Notice the grain at the forward tip of the wrist, how could it help but crack.

That is exactly what my very first Win 94SRC looked like. Right down to the incorrect Marbles sight on it.
Of course yours has much more finish on it than mine did and the screws are in better shape, and you got the original saddle ring, but it's the same model.
Ahh why oh why did let that know-it-all convince me to get rid of it???

You done good! I was looking for a decent and affordable '19 for quite awhile "just because" (late mother's birth year). Settled on a good '17--also of family significance--a real find in a western slope pawn shop in Colorado on a snowy and blustery 20 degree day...so happy camper. Can't beat those earlier Pre War SRCs! And I bet they all have some stories to tell!
