Sweet! It looks like you're ready for any eventuality. What make of axe is that? I've been thinking about a light axe instead of a hatchet.

That is a nice combo. I especially have a soft spot for S&W Model 15s.

The axe was given to me by a friend. I don't know who made it. I like The Snow & Nealley Hudson Bay.

Swampman,
Nice rig you have there. I like the Hudson Bay pattern too. I use a Norlund and a vintage Collins Hudson Bay axe. I just picked up my second S&N, a "Camp Axe", I have used a Michigan pattern for decades mostly for splitting firewood. When afoot, I travel the woods the same way as you do using a Duluth brand pack.

Yes, the Hudson Bay Camping axe is what I've been eyeballing. Another question, is there a name for that style of knife sheath? I like the idea of the belt securing the knife.

I call it a Mountain Man or Plains style knife sheath.

Any idea what FPS your loads are doing. Always like the Model 15
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

The S&W Combat Masterpiece is one of the finest DA revolvers ever made. With that and your levergun, it will serve you 'till the cow jumps over the moon. When you think about it, those two guns will get done whatever an outdoorsmans needs will ever be. ---------------Sixgun
