OT-An 81 for 86er

Post by getitdone1 »

Found a gun for 86er. Might be hard to get this guy to part with it. 15 shot magazine, custom.

86er, believe you said the 8 and 81 Remingtons were your favorite guns.

Everybody--Give her a look. "IN ACTION!"

This last one with custom 17" bbl. Now you're talk'in! That'd help considerably with it heavy weight. Vice-versa, recoil and noise.

There used to be an old timer (I mean real old timer, 90s) up here who had been a police officer in his youth and he had an old Model 8 that had a 15 round detachable mag that was custom modified for police use back in the 30s. I believe his was a 30 Remington, he was a kindly man and let me handle it a few times as he knew I was gun loving kid. No idea what happened to it after he died but I remember him saying there is no gun he'd rather stake his life on than that old Model 8. He even kept one of the two magazines he had loaded (with some of the oldest factory ammo I've ever seen) at all times.

Cool rifles - I don't think that guy is willing to part with his, yet...

And in 35 Rem, too. What a pig-killer that would be.
