OT--Couldn`t agree more--Video--

Post by Pitchy »

Kind of what I thought. But I can also see the draw of an HD. There's nothing else made that sounds the same.

That's the sound alright. I think HD received or at least applied for a patent on that unique sound. Nice scoot, Pitchy. I know HD's have come a long way from the oil drippin', unpredictable machines they used to be, but it's hard to beat a rice burner for their sheer dependability. Plus, I prefer shaft drive over chain/belt.

This bike is a 77 shovelhead, chain drive and leaks oil so it`s one of the good ones, plus ya can work on it yourself.
I`ve had BMW`s and Goldwings, an Indian Chief they are all good in there own way.
I sold my 01 Road Glide last year and went old school again, i live on a dirt road and have ruined two belts from picking up rocks SO ENOUGH OF THEM.
Shaft drive is the cats meow alright but Harley didn`t pick up on that right along with the water cooled engine.

That's a nice ride for sure. Just for my curiosity, what kind of gas mileage does that get on the road? Oh well, I mean on the free way at cruising speed?

My buddy's FLH Police bike a '97 gets about 35 mpg at hiway cruise. This one sounds like a radial engine that is just starting to warm up. SWEET 8)

When I grow up I'm building a 4speed kickstart Softail Panhead scooter with a rattlecan paintjob and no kickstand.....I'll ride it down to the local biker establishment, lay it over on its side...walk in for a cold one, walk back out and pick it up, kick it and cruise home....lol
