Uberti Model 1873

Post by pwl44m »

Brought Home another one. This is an Uberti Model 1873 in 45LC. All SS with nitre blue screws, half Oct and half Round 24" barrel, full Buckhorn rear sight, Beautiful checkered wood. The Guy that owned this is the same Guy that has the 2 AWA SAA 45s that I am still looking at. Would definitly make a nice unit. Either the action on this 73 has been worked on or They are slick out of the box. This one is as new but unfired but won't be for long. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet but will.
I am starting the new Year off right. :D :D

I had no idea they made them in stainless steel. Very nice configuration.

I have never heard of a SS Uberti 73......they do, however, make the 73 "in the white" which is a polished finish. I have a Henry 1860 with the barrel finished in the white, and it looks a lot like SS.
Whatever, that's a very handsome rifle! :D The half round and half octagon barrel with short magazine was available for a very short while, and he "in the white" finish is not common.

Here is that word again "Assume" That is what I did with the finish. It is probably what They call in the white. That adds $75 to the price. Thx Grizz for settin it right. Don't want to mislead also want to know what I have. I know I have a 73 cause it says so.lol At any rate I am happy with the Rifle and will be even more so after firing it. I have a few rounds to play with weather permitting tommorow maybe.

It's really lovely. Keep it oiled well - I'm told that Uberti's "in the white" finish will rust in a flash if you give it a chance.

Best,
Oly

They don't. They have done some "IN THE WHITE" guns but that gun is plated in a satin finish. Saw it a while back at the SHOT show. They do look nice.

Very nice rifle and nice snag. Haven't got to shoot mine since I got it for Christmas and it's snowing now so I won't make it to the range today either.

SWEET!! I really LIKE those Uberti '73s, but I would prefer a 22" barrel. Did 'ya have to run that one through your local FFL? :)

And I do it all the time just not on this one. Have a Guy now wanting to trade some old Jap rifles for a 65 Valiant. He also has some Knives, am trying to get Him to bring them on down.
