marlin 1894CL sight or scope?

Post by TX50Cal »

I have an 1894CL in 32-20. I am thinking about putting either a skinner sight or scope on it. Does anyone have any pictures of the 1894CL with receiver sights or scope. If I scope it I will use probably a Leupold 2-7X33 compact scope. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It would depend on what I was going to use it for. Both sight systems are fine. Scope for varmints and peep for general use.

Here's my 1894CL 218 Bee with the same scope you mentioned. It's the perfect match as far as I'm concerned.

Is that the factory front sight on your 1894CL? It looks like a remington front sight.

No it's not the original, it's some aftermarket ramp with a dovetailed sight insert. The previous owner had it installed. I would go back to a factory sight but it's got an extra hole in the barrel now anyway, so I'll just leave it as is.

I like to see the target very specifically so I would scope it. 2 1/2, 3 or 4 power would be a good choice I think.

Williams makes an adequate sight. I put a Marbles "sourdough", on the front. I think it's .560" tall.

With the Skinner sight you wil have to use a taller front sight. Mr. Skinner was working on a windage adjustable Lo-Pro sight . I'm waiting for him to make it available to see what it looks like. I need to get something on my CL also.

If you don't mind. Tell us about that blue ribbon. One like that would look good on mine also. But I would probably have to buy it. :D   Tom.

2007 or 2008 Pistol caliber (32-20). 80 shot match, but I can't remembe my score. I'm over 50 and should probably have marked the backs of my awards, so I knew when and what for......CRS has set in. :D

I have two CL's, a .25 and a .32. For me, I have a receiver sight on the .32 for small game at closer ranges and a K3 Weaver on the .25 for use on varmints a longer ranges.
