Wishing everyone a fun and safe summer.

Post by Lady Joyce »

I'm sure enjoying my summer away from the elementary classroom.
Just back from a church mission’s trip to Kentucky.
Then in two weeks I leave for a week long train ride across the
United States.

Starting out to be a long, hot summer. We've had a heat index over 100 for the past week +. I understand it is hot up in your neck of the woods as well. Happy summer!!! :D

If you take lots of train pictures, you can post them, and annoy the hard-core gunnies who just can't stand "Off Topic" posts... 8)

An old great friend of mine was a HS teacher, and his every available vacation was around trains... he's retired and loves "ridin' the rails!" Enjoy.

Hope you have one too. Very creative photo. We miss your posts here. I just checked in my back yard and didn't see any activity like that in my back yard. I need to move!!

Joyce,

You have a good summer too. And when taking train pics if you run across a steam loco get lots of pics of that. I couldn't care less about diesels but I get all wistful about steamers.

+100K!!

Diesel's have no soul! Steam is still the King when it comes to Railaroad Romance.

Then again my earliest lullabies were the sounds of the last Central of Georgia RR's steamers dragging carloads of crossties and lumber past our house.

Have a fun summer joyce, and be sure to post lot of rail photos, especially steam locomotives.

Have a good 'un, Lady. A week from now, I'll be on the GoldWing heading to see Mom in Ohio via Four Corners, Million Dollar Highway, Pikes Peak and then straight through.
