A public apology

Post by AmBraCol »

If I have offended anyone here by my conduct or the wording of my posts or private messages, I apologize. It is not my intent to offend, however I also recognize that the very nature of our forum and internet communications in general can lead to misunderstandings. For this reason I wish to let it be known that if you've got a problem with me I will gladly talk it over with you. In fact, PM me your phone number and I'll even call you up on my dime so we can speak personally about any issues you may have with me.

It'd help me to accept the apology if you could give me a hint on how I was offended. :)

I know I have unintentionally offended folks in the past, and would not be too surprised if it happens again in the future. I hope to be able to resolve things like that, but for whatever reasons - this does not always happen. I am sure we have all seen this kind of thing happen.

But not everyone apologizes, or trys to make things right, like AmBraCol is doing here. I like to think that says something good about a person.

And I know I have learned good stuff from your posts, and from lots of others here too. I am glad to have found this place, and hope you guys keep up all the good stuff.

Paul, if you have in anyway offended someone, their sensitivity meter is tweaked a bit to their feminine side. You are a blessing to this forum and a strong Christian influence to the forum.

A public apology
Paul,

I gotta ask ... for what????? You've said nothing to me that warrants an apology.

What the hell brought this about? There's got to be a voice of reason amongst us all and you're that voice Paul.

Should you be hinting that someone has chastised you as to the religious guidance that you use to emulate your life, well, the heck with them. You're doing just fine.

I swear. It seems more and more people are taking sensitivity to a new level.

I checked... no PMs... so I probably wasn't offended. Paul, it's your playground... you make the rules... if a player wants to be offended because you pointed out a violation... it isn't YOUR problem if they choose to be offended.

You certainly don't need OUR validation of the fun that can be had here... nor the simplicity of the rules. Thank you for providing the playground.

I haven't been offended by anything said by Paul or Hobie. The rare posting by anyone here which annoys me, I usually ignore. Annoyances are a part of life which we all must live with, and it is not up to me to determine what here is a problem. Paul, you and Hobie just keep doing your jobs the way you see fit and you will continue to have my backing. It sounds as if you have the backing of most everyone on here, too.

You guys crack me up. :) And I was NOT fishing for compliments or anything like that. All y'all need to know is that someone took offense at some back channel communications. I've no problem owning up to being rough around the edges at times, especially when dealing with folks I think should know better. As mentioned, it is not my intent to offend. However, that does NOT mean that we'll put up with male bovine digested food output. My limit of patience is about out but I figured I'd give 'er one last try. The vast majority of the folks here are great people. That's what makes it worth hanging out. Some relative newcomers haven't figured out that the measure of a man is not in how loud and obnoxious he can be but rather in his control of self and respect for others - even when those others are different from him. Anyway, thanks for the votes of confidence. I'm locking the thread as I believe it has reached its intended audience (and a whole lot more than that)

By the way, Blaine. Political posts in the general topic forum get the axe. Simple as that. Other than that, it really depends on what thread got killed when. For myself I can answer that if there's a lot of name calling and rude behavior the whole thread dies. I don't have time to sort out who started it, nor does Hobie. I can't answer for any that Hobie acts on - but a rule of thumb is, if it's not something I'd be happy with my grandma or small children reading over my shoulder - it's probably not a good thing to post on the forum. We don't care what you'd be happy with your grandma reading over your shoulder 'cause we don't know her. :D A couple of threads I saw disappear were in that category, pushing the limits of old fashioned decency. And that's what the spirit of this forum was designed to reflect - the old paths, the old norms - not the new, "Who gives darn" attitude that is pushing away the last shreds of dignity. Other than those, I really don't know but trust Hobie's judgment as I believe he trusts mine.
