OT - Prayer Request -**UPDATED**

Post by deerwhacker444 »

Got a big one for you folks.

My sister and BIL, Daniel were called in the A.M. Friday night to tell them that Daniel's mother was in the hospital and they were only giving her a few days to live, cancer had spread from her liver and her kidneys were starting to shut down. So my sister, BIL and 20 month old niece set out on a road trip from Tulsa OK, to Yuma, AZ in a borrowed car and not much money. They picked up his brother and wife somewhere along the way in OK and continued west.

I just got a call from my mom weeping on the phone. It sounds like in the midst of all this that my niece started having a seizure and had to be checked in the hospital somewhere, maybe virus related. This is my folks only grandchild, so it's having a huge impact on my mom at the moment, and I'm sure Daniel is torn between losing his mother and what's wrong with his baby daughter.

If you could, please say a prayer for the whole bunch. My sister Jami, BIL Daniel, niece Tabitha, Daniel's Mom Tammy and Daniel's dad Chico. It's a huge mess and prayers would very much be appreciated.

Thanks,

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts.

The did some tests and it looks like the baby has a urinary infection along with some kind of virus. She had a fever of 103 on top of that. Doctors feel that the seizure was brought on by a combination of the 3. The drew some blood, gave her some fluids and got her fever down. They discharged her last night so that's a great sign. As a bachelor, I don't know how you guys raise children and don't go crazy everytime they get sick, this is nerve-wracking and I'm just an uncle.

My sister and BIL are okay. Tammy, who is my BIL's mom is reportedly still going down hill. This was to be expected. They diagnosed her with the cancer around Thanksgiving. We hoped that she would be able to make it for a while but that appears not to be the case. I believe she was able to get most of her affairs in order and prepare for this day, although she and her family could still use the prayers while she passes.

This is a great site. Although I don't know many of you personally, I feel like you folks are my family. I got a little weepy last night as I saw everyone that was praying for someone they will probably never meet. You guys are tops.!
