OT: Talked with the Marine yesterday
It's been hectic around here lately. Too many bike trips to business meetings in other parts of the country. Haven't had time to infest the forum, not even to keep up on admin requests such as new registrations and such. (which I believe I've finally caught up on).
Anyway, yesterday our son called. He's been in the fleet for just around a year now. And yesterday it became official. He'll be receiving a meritorious promotion to Corporal on December 2. He's setting his sights on making Sergeant within another two years. We'll see how that pans out. Anyway, the kid's gone and grown up on me. It does my heart good to see him doing well in his chosen service.

Outstanding.
At the rate he is going Sergeant should come pretty quick.
Tell him I extend my congratulations.

Must be hard getting around on a bike swole up with the good feelings you should have about your Marine. Rightfully so.

Congrats on your son's promotion and service to his country.
Just as a side note when I was in the Army light years ago I went from E1-E7 in seven years and was up for E8 when I walked away as I had enough memories to last me a life time and some still do get some memory flash backs some good some strange and some just not worth talking about.
May all our troops return home safe and stay out of harms way, but if called to go home may they do so with honor.
