OT: Prostate Biopsy results

Post by J Miller »

Last week on Tuesday I had to do a prostate biopsy due to a higher PSA level and the nodule found by the urologist. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21040

Today I got the results ....NO CANCER FOUND!!!!

THANK GOD, and thank you for all the prayers you've said for me. They worked. There are still some questions that need answered, but since cancer is not the problem we can proceed with a lighter spirit.

Thanks guys.

Joe

Glad to hear it! That is cause for celebration. A few years back the preliminary diagnoses was that my wife had about a month left to live. They wanted her to come in just before Christmas. We said, forget it, we'll have our last Christmas together and then she can come in. What a Christmas that was. Right after Christmas we went in and they did another test and found out that it was a false alarm, she had just had a burst blood vessel in her neck that bled and caused symptoms mimicking advanced cancer in the lymph nodes. The doc said, I'm 99% sure this was a false alarm. We went straight out, got in the car, and went directly out to a nice restaurant to celebrate. It did, in fact, turn out to be a false alarm after further tests. Whew! I trust you will be celebrating likewise forthwith! :D

Bullard,

That was a pretty good article. I wish you or someone had sent it to me before the biopsy. Mine varied a bit from what was described but not enough to matter.
Although I didn't get a cute nurse to sit with me and distract me. I should complain about that ..... naw.

Guys,

Yeah, the last several weeks I've been pretty down about this. Now all I got to do is get past the colonoscopy.

Super :D Funny thing, my gut feelings on this issue was a "no worry".

There has been times in my past when, after finding out there was nothing to worry about certain issues, I immediately went out and bought something I could not afford. Works great! I get cancer scares several times a month. -------------------------------Sixgun

LOL, Well that's exactly what I told my wife. I tried to get her to let me take the check book to the gun shop, but she wouldn't do it. "She" went grocery shopping instead. Oh well, gotta eat I guess.

Congrats Jim. What a relief.

Work on those pelvic floor muscles, the ones that pinch off the flow when you take a leak. Practice cutting off the flow and starting again. Do the same exercise when you are not peeing. It is my understanding that those muscles support the prostate in a sheath and when they are strong, help keep the size of the prostate down.
Kind regards,
Tycer

I've been thinking New Mexico or Texas sound a little better these days. Everytime I go back to visit the family, it seems everyone South of the Mogollon Rim and even a bunch north of it, are mad as hornets. The swarm of people with their expensive toys, driving like they are 3 days late for something is a bit unnerving for this old desert rat. :P

Nonetheless, a time of celebration for you Joe, and new beginnings!

Joe - my heartfelt congratulations on the results of your biopsy. Went through this with my young wife when she had a breast cancer scare a year ago. Wow, were we ecstatic to get the results saying it was a false alarm.

I know you had faith that all would be well, and you were surely right with your optimism. However, I know the extreme anxiety you and your wife must have shared right up to the time the doc said, "good news, no need to worry about that now". Take his good news and turn it into additional energy to cause the best things in your life to become more important, and move forward to accomplish any "lost opportunities" you must have been pining over when the positive outcome of your test was not yet determined. We all wish you and your wife the best and I believe we all here look forward to your making those changes in your life which will bring more peace and comfort to you both.
