**OT** Daughter Made Off With My Carry Piece...I'm Pleased

Post by Blaine »

Daughter came over to hang out for awhile last night and I had several hand guns on the table...."Her" .22 H&R 9 shot.....My .22 AirLite, The Glock 36, the Para 1911 and my carry, the .38sp AirWeight.......For the first time in years, she wanted to talk guns with me (we used to go shoot all the time, then she turned into a girl at about age 16  ) Anyway.....she said she's kind of like a decent gun for her Condo....I offered her "her" H&R .22 and she kind of sneered and said No, she wanted something better than that little thing (I was so proud  ) So she focused on my AirWeight and mentioned she really liked that one because it kicked some when she shot it and ya might as well have something with a little power......To make a long story short, I gave her about an hour refresher course and cased up my baby and sent it home with my "Baby"......Darn, now I have to go shop for an urban social piece.....I'm thinking a .357 this time, prolly a S&W hammerless.....I like that little bitty Kahr 45 PM micro, too

A fine example of good parenting skills. My own ten year old girl has been eyeballing my model 36 saying it just about the right size...

Blaine, I'm glad she's got it. Now, here's hoping she NEVER needs it.

+1 on what Joe said...and I sure like those little .357s too, that would be a good addition to your clan.

Good job, Blaine! I used to carry a 640 Centennial, but my pants felt like they were falling down, so I switched to the 642 and hardly know I'm carrying.

Sounds good to me. I should think about one of them for my own house some time.

Yes, I remember the day, prior to my baby leaving go to the University of Georgia, laying out the pistols and revolvers and watching her make a decision. Like you I thought she might choose the .22 High Standard Sentinel 9 shot that she grew up shootig or the Bersa .380 that I bought just for her. She chose her grand daddy's Charter Arms .38 snubby. Light weight, concealable, and she hit well with it. My dad would have been proud.

Blaine, good for you. I also hope she never needs it. If you need a good carry gun, may I suggest at least looking at a KelTec. I bought the P11 and love it. I was amazed at how accurate it is. This little 10 shot gun fits in pants pockets, shirt pockets, inside a book, or just about any place you need to put it. I go every place with it in my hip pocket and no one knows it.

That's a good carry piece, but for the condo she needs a steel version to go with it. Might I suggest a 65 LadySmith?
Why? Just curious

No to red (its too short of a time) and yes to blue... Fortunately my little girl is almost 2... I got another 18-20 years (maybe a little less if she does college) with her here at home... Your a good man to give your baby your baby to take care of your baby :o
