Stag grips for my 3rd Gen Colt SAA 45.
I just got these and put them on my 3rd generation Colt SAA in 45 Colt. I'm partial to stag. They are all different. They just look and feel better than the originals IMHO. I love carved Ivory but WOW the price. I remember seeing my first ivory carved steer head with ruby eyes and gold nose ring on a silver plated Colt SAA 1st generation. I think my mouth must have stayed open for quite a while. What a Barbecue revolver, but for carrying real stag is it for me.

I love the term "Barbecue Revolver"
Those stag grips look great, reminds me of the good old "B" westerns when I was a kid.
Sure wish we could have our Six Guns back,

Beautiful right side grip, rangerider7. I really like that burl pattern. It sets that purty SAA six-shooter off real well! Could you show us a left side view too?
Mike, on my 1'st impression after going back to see the chair after reading your post,(all my attention was centered on the gun!), was "that's either a mighty small chair or a darn big sixgun" until I realized there was some kind of plaque right under the gun, and it was all on a partial view of a chair!rjohns94 wrote:thats really nice. looks like some sort of childs seat on the chair. Sure rangerider will set us straight. he has kewl stuff in his museum, ah, I mean home.

Here's the other side. You will notice these are two piece grips with the hidden right side screw. That is an old toddlers horn chair gotten off an old west Texas ranch many many years ago. I would guess it is over a hundred years old. There are no screws in it. It is all pegged and fitted and solid as a rock. I have photos of all my grand-kids sitting in the chair as soon as they could sit up.

I'm partial to stagg myself. I would be happy with Ivory too but the cost puts me out of it. If I had a special pistol that I thought deserved the best, it would get Ivory.
Nice looking pistolsd my friend.

Somethin' 'bout stag--nice feel, nice look, very durable. My all time favorite. While I do have some sixguns fitted with ivory, I am always full of worry while toting or shooting these. With stag, the worry goes away. Good lookin' Colt there, RR7------------Sixgun

I love stag grips on a SAA. I've got a chunk of elephant ivory that my uncle gave me when I was too young to even own a SAA. I've always wanted to fit it to one of my single actions, but I'm afraid I'll screw up something so valuable! After nearly 50 years, I really need to do something with it!

Rangerider, I am looking for some good stag grips for an SAA, myself. Do you
mind if I ask where you got them, and did they hand-fit them?
Any info will be much appreciated -- thanks!
