With a very few exceptions Marlins been putting those in their walnut stocked rifles & shotguns since I think the 20's. 1920's of course.

Yes, since the mid 1920's, except for a hiatus during the Great Depression. Around 1930 they dropped the Bullseye to save money, and it didn't reappear until right after WWII. Been there ever since.

And it took them 'till 1990 to register it as a Trademark...
