Not another what if topic or can only choose one topic but a
real live what do you use the most topic.
What firearms see the most use by you? Now for those who shy away from wanting to list specifics, this can be a hypothetical question. I'm looking for shotgun, rifle, pistol. And "use most" can but does not have to mean fire the most. For instance, if your favorite .22 sees more range time, but your CCW is with you all the time, then the answer would probably be your CCW. If you don't use a CCW and you grab a certain pistol or rifle for ranch work, or range work, or whatever .... then that would be the answer. For those competition shooters, I imagine your comp guns might make this category.
here are mine:
Shotgun: Side by Side hammer gun, in 12 gauge, 1890's vintage - my field gun during the fall and winter hunting season. Unloaded the rest of year. All year: Benneli M3, 12gauge, bedside.
Rifle: .357 NKJ worked model 92, SS two tone, with receiver sight. I shoot this one more and carry it more than any other rifle. "IF" I had a truck gun, this is the one. It is my go to rifle and I use it deer hunting in Penn's Woods.
Pistol: Smith model 60-3 pro, .357 with adjustable night sights. Carry this in an uncle mikes nylon pancake. I carry two speed loaders. This is my primary CCW and I shoot it every time i go to the range. I have used it for game up to the size of deer. I recognize this as a compromise pistol. But its a good compromise in caliber, size, reliability, and utility. It is accurate and easy to shoot. It's light weight ensures I have it with me just about always.

I don't "Use" my CCW. I hope I never have to... It is simply carried daily and regularly practiced with, but never "used"...
The rifle I "use" most is my NKJ Rossi .357.
The Shotgun I "use" most is my 16x16 Drilling
The Pistol I "use" most is my Crosman 1377

OI,
Ok, use to you is fire, shoot, make smoke, etc. I figured "use for self protection" as a use. I see you point.

I know, it's a semantic quibble, but IMO it's an important one to RKBA. Possession is not Use... which is why a CCW permit is philosophically more difficult than a Drivers license...rjohns94 wrote:OI,

The DL is a Public Use Permit and has no bearing on possession. A CCW is a Possession Permit... a permit to/restriction on "Bearing".

Marlin 94P and Super Blackhawk get the most trail, travel, camp use.
My Glock 26 is with me more and more these days. Probably gets the most everyday use.
Only field shotgun I have is a Winchester Model 12 20 gage.
Hunting rifles rotate through three or four favorites.

I mix up my carry piece a bit, but usually a J Frame of some sort. Glock 36 and Para 1911 are in the lineup for the woods or open carry. For handgun shooting, tho, it's the SingleSix, hands down. I put more thru this one than the other 30 some put together.

I woud suggest that carry is use if it is for the confidence in your ability to protect yourself/others.
Re: Not another what if topic or can only choose one topic but a
The ones around here that see the most use are my Sharps rifles, my 405, the lowall 22, the 45 colt new vaquero, and the bisley clone in 38-40. Probably haven't loaded a shotgun for 3 years now.

Actually pull the trigger on.
Handguns
Ruger Mk I Target
S&W 1917
Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt
Rifles
Ruger 10/22
Remington 700 Lefty 30-06
Marlin GS
Shotguns
Franchi Model 48 20 ga
Remington 870 Lefty 12 ga.
But of those which do I end up using the most. The MK I Target. Followed by the 10/22. Even with reloading, I still find myself shooting more .22lr than anything else.

Re: Not another what if topic or can only choose one topic but a
Most used? Humm
Most used rifle, as in the one I grab when I just got to get something killed, regardless of the conditions, would be my old steel framed Browning BLR in .308Win with 2x7 leupold.
Most used handgun, would have to be my old series 70 Colt 1911, 45ACP from my old IPSC and IDPA match shooting days. I have had this gun for almost 30 yrs and it also does double duty as my ready at all times, home defense pistol, I handle it every day, and have for the most part of 30yrs.
Most used shotgun, is probably my 12ga Winchester Model 23 side by side, with the straight english style grip, and 25 inch barrels, bored improved cylinder and improved modifed. But I do often shoot several others I have, and I keep an old Browning A5 as a house shotgun, along with a Winchester model 12 in another area. But the 23 is my most used pheasant, sporting clays, and informal clay pigion gun.

The "pair" (shotguns only figure in one scenario for me) would depend on what I'm doing...
Rimfire Guns (when I think I may just want to plink, spot a coyote, etc., but don't want to bother with hearing protectors):
- Handgun - (no rain) Ruger Mk II .22 LR - (rain) North American Arms .22 Magnum/LR combo 1-1/2"
- Rifle - (no rain) Ruger 96/22 .22 Magnum - (rain) Ruger 77/22 Stainless .22 LR
Walking Guns (handy for a woods-walk, livestock checking, etc.):
- Handgun - (no rain) Blackhawk .32-20 - (rain) Blackhawk Stainless .357
- Rifle - (no rain) Marlin 1894 SS .44 - (rain) Ruger 77/44 Stainless .44 [on order... ]
Chore Guns (don't care if they get wet or dropped; ok to set down in mud if needed, or lay on top of a wheelbarrow load of manured bedding)
Also would do for FHOD situation:
- Handgun - (rain or shine) AMT 'Government' .45
- Rifle - (no rain) Marlin SS Guide Gun .45-70 - (rain) Siaga .7.62x39
- Shotgun - (rain or shine) Mossberg 500 - (#4Buck/Slug alt)

I am not getting out to shoot nearly enough. Nothing seems to be the "most used", as I am trying to expose Y2K to all kinds of different firearms. For the last few years we have rarely fired the same gun twice, though .22's still get the bulk of our attention.

I am constantly shooting something different from the safe each time out. I have some I use way less than others, but I suppose if I were to try and pin down three....
1895 Winchester 38-72 (Simply because it's been a long process of range time finding a good load, which I finally did)
Colt SAA 45LC
Beretta 20 Ga. Silver Pigeon
But these are not necessarily the guns I'm most comfortable with, or my "Go To Guns."

most likely the rifle and pistol would be a 22rf or 22rim fire mag as ammo is getting harder to find these days. I do have others and large caliber but they are for serious work and then they would be in my hand as per my comments above.
