I'm sorry to hear this. I enjoyed the History Channel Wild West Tech program he hosted. IIRC He was in The Long Riders years ago too.

Boy that is fishy... I can't see him committing suicide. No way. I bet his brothers are upset and will pursue this. I can't see them buying this either.

seems like an unlikely suicide guy, --- hard to know what goes on behind people's faces though. (money, lack of money, stress, illness, ???)

I dont understand doing something like this at the age of 72 unless he was recently diagnosed with a bad illness or something.

See link to Bangkok newspaper, The Nation. They seem to believe it was suicide.

What the newspaper or anybody else "believes" is irrelevant. What does the autopsy and forensic evidence say? That's what I'm curious about.

Exactly. And what about his family - what do they know? And the people that he was working with there? I am sure that Thailand doesn't want the murder of a famous actor on their soil... and I wouldn't put it past them to obstruct and cover up evidence to keep the bad publicity away.

I can't imagine why a guy would travel all the way to Bankok, start filming a movie, and then hang himself. Sure smells bad to me.

David Carradine dies strangely in Thailand. Sounds like he may have been trying one of those suffocation-sex techniques.

Major points, OI, for referencing Chet Baker. I thought I was the only lever-totin' jazz guy.

As for the subject at hand, I saw details that stated his hands were bound and he was sitting in a chair. Now, all of that could turn out to be false, but one does not hang oneself sitting down OR with hands bound, do they? I think this is what's known in Thailand as "hooker malfunction."

A very regrettable end, to be sure.

[Sounds like he may have been trying one of those suffocation-sex techniques.]

I didn't hear about the chair thing, but did hear a news talking head say he was found hanging in a closet, with a rope around his neck and (ahem) nethers.

They're now saying "accidental death from auto-erotic asphyxiation".

I'd venture to say, we've seen the last of his Yellow Book TV commercials.

I'd rather "speak softly and carry a big stick", the stick in this case being anything in a caliber starting with a "4"!
