I stopped in to the local Gander Mtn. a couple days ago looking for .22 magnums and nothing.
They haven''t had 9mm in a couple months and want $20 a box for 9x18!

Crazy!

I saw the first brick of .22 today at a gun shop, maybe $15.00 a couple months ago, they had it marked up to around $45.00 if I remember correctly, when I saw the price I just kept walking. Nothing on the reloading shelves BTW.

Try these guys for better than bulk and match grade 22 ammo.

Well, since something like 55 million (I'll post a corrected number if anyone knows it) voters elected our current Messiah, I can only blame the 80 Million gun owners who evidently couldn't manage to either vote for McCain, or a third party candidate. Better yet, they could have gotten off their arses and seen to it that Ron Paul would win.

We have only ourselves to blame...

I did my part!

I wish all the stores would refuse to sell to anyone who (a) voted for the Obamanation or (b) didn't vote at all. Serves the lazy, ignorant ba$tards right!

I was in a Bass Pro Shop a couple weeks ago. No lead, no bullets to speak of, no powder but maybe two 1-lb cans, no brass at all, and exactly 1 sleeve of shotgun primers...

I went to my local Walley World the other day. CCI Mini Mags were $6.46 per 100 and Winchester .22 Mag was $8.97 a box. I bought one of each. Maybe things will catch up in a bit.

This situation has been going on since the election. .For some reason 380 ACP is scarce, almost non existent.

But there is ammo around if you know where to look.

Wal Mart has been selling a tremendous amount of ammo, you need to get lucky and be there when the ammo is there, usually early mornings.

Cabela's has plenty of ammo in most calibers, if you happen to live near one.

The following vendors have ammo and have not jacked up their prices.

Good Luck ...

We campaigned HARD for Palin, errrr, McCain. Seriously, we did. Our county went McCain, our city went Obama. Why? Because with the usual kooks the formally largest minority, ie. African-Americans, actually came out and voted. I've never seen so many actually in my polling place. 99% of them voted Obama. THAT is what turned it around.

I have noted that there are still homes with Obama campaign signs out front. ALL that I have seen are the homes of African-American families. I've noticed one other thing. Just about every car that cuts me off, fails to use a turn signal, runs a red light, passes me when I'm running the limit, etc. has got an Obama sticker.

I am absolutely AMAZED at how many gun owners sat out the election because they HATED McCain and are now whining about firearms/ammo availability, new laws, etc. Here in VA you have to have a second ID to verify residence. It can be anything with your name and the same address as on your driver's license. I always ask for the voter registration card first. You'd be surprised how many gun owners don't vote at all.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Man, I really would love to find Winchester 22 Mag JHP's somewhere ... for any price. I have 3 Wally's here in my area and they never have it. Not even Gander has it near me.

It wasn't just the African-American vote Hobie. It was the "young" vote too. They turned out in numbers never seen before.

I say this shaking my head but people just don't care. Many of those that have guns don't even use them. Their guns just sit in a closet or in a drawer.

What really gets me is the number of women that have bought guns in the last few years that don't join the NRA or vote the gun ticket. They need to come to grips with their priorities.

When I went to Walmart last Monday they didn't have much in regular .22 ammo. But they did have quite a bit of the magnums. I only have one gun that shoots the stuff and I never use it so I didn't bother. Probably should have though.

Hobie, I've seen the same kind of idiot drivers with obama stickers here in IL. It seems like a mind set that just meshes up with obama.

I think they tend to be the ones who feel that rules are made for OTHER people, i.e. that if you or your favorite groups aren't winning, that it is ok to cheat by simply changing the rules. As a 'boomer' I'm ashamed to admit it, but I think 'our' generation was the first to have this selfish, materialistic, mindset, which fits right in to socialism, while self-righteously battling evil capitalism. Ironically, the liberal Democrat focus on 'points' is mostly on money, hence all the emphasis on wealth redistribution; odd that they say the Republicans are the 'materialistic' ones, when the Republicans focus more on morality redistribution, and are statistically more charitable (the Democrat method of stealing your neighbor's income and donating it doesn't count).

Exactly. And the most obvious example of late is all of the Obama nominees for various positions that turned out to be cheating on their taxes. Tax laws are apparently for the little people ... and Republicans.

I have seen much .22 L.R. ammo for the past 2wks. I am told this is part of one last run before the factories focus on center fire ammo. Take this for what it is worth, not much. Just what I am told by factory reps. and store employees. 1886.

warhawk...there was none available at the time, but...i saw an empty place on the shelf of my local big 5 sporting goods store for .380 auto and it was marked $78.00! for how many rounds, i couldn't read from the distance it was from me.

IMO...from what i've observed about the black community as a whole, they'll vote for any black that runs regardless of qualifications, or they will accquit any black person tried for a crime if they are in a majority on the jury...sagon penn and O.J. are prime examples and the congressman jefferson that was caught red handed with bribe money in his freezer...

IMO...we are, indeed, headed down a path to self destruction with the current occupant of the white house leading the charge.

What got the messiah elected was the last President turning off the conservative republicans and the silent majority and the little guy in America. 87% of this country lives in urban areas and have no clue of firearms.
I didn't like the things that the messiah was saying and no I didn't vote for him and have been rewarded for it by his administration calling me a TERRORIST because I am right wing, and whole lot of other things.
Young and old voted for him because of the hatred they had for Bush and his administration. One of the worst things he did for us was TSA and homeland security they are both against the firearm owner and freedom loving Americans.
The Republicans are so full of RINOs that no one knows what they stand for anymore. They have no leader right now or even a real leader or standard bearer for the party right now. Personally I like dick chenny, Sarah Palin and bobby Jindal the rest are more like Rino's then anything. Look at Spector he switched parties because he knew he was dead as Republican because he most often votes with the Dem's anyway. But now they have lost their token Rino.
Should prove interesting with the up coming Justice that has to be confirmed by one Republican. I wonder who the turn coat will be?
Personally it is time for term limits 6 years total period and all that are in political office in Washington should be replaced with new faces.

Here's the skinny (as I have been told) on .380...

#1 .380 is normally only produced by most companies for about 2 weeks a year.
#2 One of the OEMs (ATK I think) is not producing ANY .380, because they can't afford to shut down their 9mm line(s)
#3 There are somthing like 3 new, nice CCW .380s on the market and people have taken notice.

So, Less of an already restricted supply PLUS More Demand = Big Shortage/high prices.

I work at Wally World, and today as I walked past the sporting goods counter on my way to the back to turn in some paperwork to personnell, I say about a dozen boxes of the Remington 550 round .22lr. When I got off work 2 hours later and went back, it was all gone. Two men came in and bought 6 boxes each. I was just not able to get there, and I cannot have any set back for me as it is against corporate policy.

Or perhaps a non-employee friend you could call on a cell phone when the next batch comes in...

HEY - WHAT AM I DOING? I want some of the next shipment, so I'd better quit giving you 'employees' any more ideas...
