I'm not sure, but they look like "little metal thingies..."

Wow, kinda looks like the super-rare .25-22LR Rimfire with the heeled bullet!!! ...Trouble is, there's nothing that fires 'em. Seriously, I have no idea. Perhaps some closer up/ more detailed pics would help someone provide an answer. Good luck!

They look like the "bullets" from an old Stallion 45 Cap Gun...

They look like the part of a wood turning lathe that actually engages the wood it's self. If that's what they are they fit into a hole in the "tailstock" ? I think that's what you call it. Not sure but that's what comes to mind.

If the base of the artifact has a small hole that connects to the larger open end, the I agree with Buck.. What's missing is the brass case that slips over the lower reduced diameter shank.. A round sticky cap was placed over the end of the "Bullet" then the brass case was slipped over the lower shank and the whole assembly was loaded into the cylinder of the cap gun.

I used to have some of those 'way back when for the Stallion 45. And the brass case part which slid over the heavy plug had a large hole in the base--think a primer pocket 3/8" in diameter--so that the powder blister in the cap could be set off by the impact from the hammer. Mattel's 'Greenie Stick-'Em Caps' didn't fall off or out like the red round ones with no adhesive, but the adhesive goo on the Greenies built up quickly so that the base of the heavy insert needed cleaning after only 2 or 3 caps, or there would be too much cushioning effect for the cap to go off. Very disconcerting to a 9-year-old defending home and hearth from the baddies.
