Forearm puma 44mag.
I need help with getting the screw to the barrel band back in,I'm haveing a h*ll of a time trying to get this screw back in I'v got the forarm seated solidly aganst the recever and the barrel band hard against the forarm and I can slip the screw all the way through but cant get the threads to start.I can take the band off and get the screw to go in just fine.I'm not new to gun tinkering but this has me stumped any help would be great thank you in advance.BTW the notches in the barrel and mag. tube are lined up, have no problem getting the screw all the way thrugh just can't get the threads to start.

I haven't had this problem before, but here is what I'd try.
If you have a wood clamp, clamp around the band with light pressure,
whatever you use just leave enough clearance for the screw and don't
use much pressure, just enough to squeeze the band to start the screw.
I'd take the clamp off before tightening the screw as well.

I've had that problem with a number of lever guns. What I usually end up doing is gently rotate the band back and forth as I push in the screw. Usually you'll find a spot where you can feel the screw start into the hole. Then the trick is holding everything in place as you reach for the screw driver.
It doesn't help that the threads are so very fine and delicate either.
