Just got off the phone with my mother and my uncle, going to New Mexico.
Hard to talk to them on the phone: My uncle can't hear & my mother won't listen, anybody else have this problem?

Yup, I know what you mean,my wife gets tired of me saying "what" all the time. After all the years of shooting and heavy equipment it will happen.

If they're family their precious, do the best you can. I sat with my dieing dad a couple weeks ago in California, a man who could have put a lot of pain on a big bear when I was a young guy----yet there he sat in a wheelchair, with cancer, hurting, and not overly conversant due to his illnesses. Yet I realized how thankful I was just being there with him talking a little bit with him. Did you say your mom was heading to New Mexico?, I bet she is still a go getter, you're blessed my friend.

But I remember the sherrif calling me up because there was a wildfire, seems a deputy went to her house to evacuate her, and she ran him off at gunpoint.

She sounds like my Big Mama and my Mom, and that is about the highest compliment I can give anyone.

Give her a hug from me since I can't give one to my Big Mama any more.
